Easy To Use Camping Skip Counting by 5s Puzzles
Puzzles are always a favorite at our house! I know we are always working with puzzles one way or another. We have enjoyed using them for learning.
Today I have some skip counting puzzles for a summer camping theme. Each puzzle is a great way for Kindergarten, first-grade and even second-grade kids to work on their skip counting.
Each puzzle gives kids a nice way to work on their skip counting.
We love learning with puzzles. They are easy to use for building words and now for skip counting. My youngest just loves learning with puzzles for her skip counting.
Each of the puzzles is skip counting by 5. The first puzzle goes from 5 to 50 and the second set has mixed starting points for the numbers. There are two sets of the puzzles. One set is vertical and the other is horizontal.
You can use all the puzzles at the same time or mix them up. That is what makes puzzles fun! Plus they are great for hands-on learners.
How to Prepare the Puzzles
I laminate each of the puzzles and then cut them up. There are ten pieces in each puzzle. There is also a blank puzzle page that you can use as a place to build your puzzles. I put some putty on my laminated blank to help the puzzles pieces stay in place, while building the puzzle.
I also have close by the skip counting by 5 bookmarks. These are only available in my stores. They go from 5 to 240. You can flip through the bookmarks and see the numbers go up by 5.
How to Use the Camping Counting by 5 Puzzles
The first time through we just might see how much of the numbers they can do on their own. I have the skip counting bookmarks close by if they need extra help.
They press the puzzles onto the blank puzzle to keep them in place. After they finish the puzzle, they read the numbers on the bottom or side. You can use the bookmarks to see if they did it correctly.
My youngest loves to put the puzzles right on the side and then count backward while putting them on the board.
Another fun thing I will do it is mix up the puzzles and leave it for her to fix. She loves this and it is simple and easy to set up.
