Building Eiffel Tower

A few months ago we did an activity for the book Madeline. We love the activities. One part about the book that I just love is that it takes place in Paris, France. There are so many things you see in the book.

One part that we liked was the Eiffel Tower. There is so much you can do with a project like this. We decided what we were going to do with our project for the Poppins Book Nook theme for Countries Around the World.

We reread the book Madeline. It is a classic that we have enjoyed reading over the years. We also did read The Story of Diva and Flea. It also takes place in France.

We looked up some pictures online for the Eiffel Tower. There were lots of information you could learn about the tower. Expanding our search on the tower was loads of fun to do. We talked about the book that what year the book was made.

What you need for this activity: plank set and a picture of the Eiffel Tower.

They started building on the base on the tower. We decided what would be important to build to make the tower look similar.

The tower started to slowly build up. This was a good idea for them to think about what part of the tower build what way with the plank boards.

This was also a good activity about how well they could work together to build the project. They had to talk about what they thought was next and helping get the blocks to share. They talked and decided who would put the last piece of the tower in place.

  1. Bet this one got them thinking! Such a fun engineering activity! I may never get to Paris but at least I can build my own version of the Eiffel Tower! #ThoughtfulSpot
