How we made the Bug Cookie Cutter Watercolor Painting
You are going to see all the steps below to make your bug watercolor paintings.
Step 1 Hold Cookie Cutter
The first thing you do is hold the cookie cutter in place. This is a great way to work on fine motor skills. They can hold on the top of the bug coookie cutter and press down or on the outside of the bug cookie cutter.
For this one we held on the outside of the cookie cutter.
Step 2: Paint Inside the Cookie Cutter
After you are holding it the way you want, then you start painting inside the cookie cutter. You can use one color or mix colors. You can let kids be as creative as they want.
Step 3: Lift Cookie Cutter
You lift off the cookie cutter and look at your watercolor bug painting. For younger kids you can leave it as it is.
If you have older kids they can use the brush to touch up areas on the bug. Or the older kids might want to decorate the bugs more after they are done painting inside the cookie cutter.
Step 4: Repeat Steps for with Other Bug Cookie Cutters
Now you move on and repeat the steps above for each new bug the paint.
Coookie Cutter Painting Tips
Remember you can use any of the cookie cutters you want. You can do as many as you want or as few as you want. Plus it is fun to see how creative kids can be with the bug cookie cutters.
Also if you are going to use the cookie cutters with a lot of kids you might want to wash off the cookie cutters between paintings.
If you are worried about the cookie cutters rushing you can use a mod podge spray to help protect the cookie cutters. But only do this if you are not going to use the cookie cutters with food.
