How we made the Apple Tree Wreath Craft
You will see all the steps we used to make this wreath. And you can change up a few of these steps to meet your needs.
Step 1: Preparing to Paint the Wreath
After you have the center of the paper plate cut out you can throw it away or keep it to use as a help while painting the wreath.
You keep it under where you are painting to keep the table clear.
Step 2: Paint the Wreath
You use a green watercolor and paint the paper plate. You can paint the wreath dark or light. Lets kids decide the color the green or how much of it they paint.
You could also use a dot marker and dot marker the wreath. Using a dot marker is easier for some kids than painting. Ether will work great for kids.
Step 3: Punch out the Glitter Apples
The next step is punching out the glitter apples. we used red for this apple tree but you could also do green and yellow if you wanted.
I do a template apple so they can see how far the punch goes and how big the apples are.
You can punch out the apples ahead of time if you want or have them punch the apples. I really like to have kids do the punching with the craft punches. It makes for great pressure activity for kids.
Step 4: Paint the Branches on the Apple Tree
You want to paint brown lines on the apple tree for the branches. You start at the bottom of the wreath and paint up curved lines. You can see how we did this below.
Step 5: Paint the limbs on the Branches
Next you want to paint some smaller tree limbs on the branches. These are just to help fill out the tree more.
Step 6: Glue on the Apples
The final step is gluing on the apple on the wreath. You want to place the apples around the branches of the tree. This is fun because you have small and big to glue around the tree.
