Free Apple Time Matching Cards – Hourly Time
There are many themes that you cover in school and telling time is one that you start to review for some kids as you head back to school. I love apples I thought it would be fun to add in some telling time matching apples.
I have been using a lot of matching cards lately and they are fun because there are so many ways you can use them.

This is a fun new addition to the apple printables and telling time printables on the site. I love adding new things we can use during the seasons.
What is Telling Time?
Telling time is the ability to read the hands on a clock or read the time on a digital clock.
This apple telling time printable works on telling time with an analog clock and a digital clock.
There are two types of cards. You have a red apple with an analog clock with the hour show on a clock face. The second apple card is green and shows digital time.
They are fun to match together. You have the hours from 1 to 12 on the apples. I recommend printing on white cardstock

How you can use the Apple Time Matching Cards
I’m going to show you a few ways to use these hourly telling time matching cards
Matching the Telling Time Cards
One of the best ways is matching. You can have cards on both sides to match or you can do like it is laid out below. You can have one set of cards laid out and another pile to match on the top of the cards. It is simple and easy to set up. This also works great in a pocket chart on the wall or on a table.
Use with Telling Time Mat
One way to use the cards is to use the digital apples for kids to make the hour and minute hands on the time help mat. This is a simple way to make these hands-on for those that need that style of learning.
Make a Clock with Matching Cards
If you have space make a clock on the floor. I had her start out with the digital clock and point out where it would be on the clock. It was fun to watch her match the time to the correct area. This also helps them see that it goes around in a circle.
If they have made the clock they can then match the apples with the clock hands on them. This helps them have another way to reinforce what they are learning.
