2D Shape Wall Cards
Wall cards are great because you can have them around to help with learning. They are flexible and you can put them up as you learn them.
The 2D shape wall cards are great because you have just those shapes. And these are some of the first shapes that kids learn.
I also get asked for more wall cards for preschool and kindergarten and these shapes ones are great for that.
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
There are several shapes for the wall cards. You will find the following 2D shapes: circle, square, triangle, rhombus, rectangle, oval, heart, star, crescent, pentagon, hexagon, and octagon.
There are two wall cards on each page. They have the shape in a color and then the shape name below. I recommend printing on cardstock and laminating these to help them last longer.
Things to use with the Shape Wall Cards
I always get asked what did you use with these wall cards. And this is a list of everything we have used.
Ways to use the Shape Wall Cards
One easy way to use the cards is to display them on the wall. But I know not everyone has space to display wall cards all the time. So I thought I would show you a few other ways to use them.
When you have limited space try hanging just a few cards at a time. This will save space.
I like to rotate my wall cards when space is limited. So After having them on the wall I like to make them into a book. You can add new shape wall cards as they learn them. I have the cards printed on cardstock and use a 3 hole punch to make the spot for the rings.
Now if you like the idea of a book but don’t want to use cardstock then there is an easy way to make one.
First print off all the shape pages on regular copy paper. Then you fold the pages in half.
After you have all the shape wall cards folded in half you use a stapler to staple along the side. I like to put 4 or more staples to hold the book.
Then you can open the book and look through all the shapes. Super simple and easy shape book to make!
Like these but want other options for shape wall cards then check out the Shape Wall Cards Selling Set. It has 12 shapes for kids to learn with two sizes of wall cards and two types of wall cards.
You have a set of cards with just the shapes and shape name. You also have one with kids holding the shape and two shape examples.
There are also two sizes of cards. This allows you to use the size that works best for your needs.
I really love the smaller card option because sometimes you want something smaller to use with kids. And these cards are perfect to put on a ring. Then they can flip through the cards one at a time.
