Early Reading Printables: BOB Book Set 3 Book 3 & 4

The next new BOB Books printable set that is available from 3 different bloggers: Royal Baloo, This Reading Mama and 3 Dinosaurs. We are working together to put out printables for the BOB Books. Over the next month these will be a great resource for your little ones to use with the books in Set 3. Look for them on Mondays! We are excited to be back doing this work again.

This week we start with Bob Books Set 3- Word Families. Books 3 and 4 are out this week.

You are going to find some of the same printables from Set 1 & 2 and some new that I’ve added for Set 3. This week you will find Vowel Word Paths, Read Write & Stamp, Making BOB Book Words, Write a Sentence with the Word, Color as You Read, Color the Sight Word, Tally Mark as you read, Rhyming Word matching and Cube Flashcards. All the words from the books are used.

Using Color As You Read
I thought I would take the time to show you a fun quick activity you can do with the Color As You Read Sheet.

The first one is to use it as a matching game. I print off 2 sheets. One I leave as it is. The second one I cut into strips. They cut the strips and they match the words. You can do this with cards stock and use over a few times or just paper and have them glue the matching words on. You could also glue the words on as you read as well.

The second is to print one sheet and cut out the words. Then use the words to make the sentences in the books as you read the book.

The third way is to use it as it states. You color the words as you find them in the book.
