How We Made The Turkey Stamp Painting
You can see the steps below that we used to make the Turkey Stamp painting.
Paint On Paper Plate Or Tray
You are going to start by putting paint on a paper plate. You can do a big circle about the size of the cookie cutter. Then you place the cookie cutter in the paint.
You use the cookie cutter to spread the paint around to cover the whole edge of the cookie cutter.
Stamping The Cookie Cutter On The Paper
Once you have paint on the cookie cutter you are going to stamp the cookie cutter on the paper. You want to press down on the top to make sure the cookie cutter is pressed onto the paper.
Some metal cookie cutters don’t always sit flat. You can check this before you start painting.
Look The The Turkey On The Paper
Then you are going to lift the cookie cutter off the paper. You can see the outline of the turkey on the paper.
You can see that not every stamp will be 100 the turkey pumpkin or leaf but that is okay.
Keep Stamping Turkey On The Paper
Once you get started you can keep going. You can use the same cookie cutter over and over. Or you might want to switch it every stamp.
We did one at a time on our paper. You can see how we added more turkeys.
Add in the Pumpkins & Leaves
Then start adding in the pumpkins and leaves on the paper. You can see that we started next with the pumpkin and starting stamping it on the page.
You are going to want to keep going until you have all three themes stamped on the paper. And remember they might not want to do that many stamps or they might slide the cookie cutter. And those are all okay things to do.
When you are all done this painting makes a great placemat for kids for Thanksgiving.
