How we made the Fall Leaf Wreath Craft
You will see the steps below we used to make the leaf wreath craft.
Paint the Paper Plate
We star off always by painting the wreath. You can see we used watercolors and that is because it dries pretty fast.
Dot markers also work really well. Once the wreath is painting you want to set it aside to dry a little bit.
Punch out the Leaves
Next we work on punching out the the leaves. You can do this ahead of time if you want but I find that kids love to use the craft punches.
You can see the size differences of the two punches that we have. You might be able to find larger sizes as well. All depends on what is available.
We use an inch maple leaf and a one and a half inch leaf punch
You want to make a mix of the leaves for kids to use on the wreath. You can see the different sizes of colors of the glitter cardstock that we used.
And a reminder you can do this in advance if you want.
Paint the Branches on the Tree
You paint the big branches of the tree first. But remember kids can paint this how they want. It is a fun way to how they look on the plate.
After you have the big branches you paint smaller limbs on the tree. It is fun to see the tree come alive on the wreath. You can do as many small limbs as you want.
Glue on the Leaves on the Branches
One you have the branches and limbs on you start gluing on the leaves on the wreath. This is fun to place the leaves around the different branches.
You can use as many leaves as you want. You can have single leaf or group the leaves together on the branches. Kids can do as many as they want.
In the end this should be their fun fall craft.
