There are so many ways to work on multiplication and clip cards are a great way to check if kids are learning their multiplication math facts.

What is Multiplication?

Multiplication is one of the basic math operations that kids learn.

Multiplication is the adding of equal groups together. So you would be adding groups of 2 together.

You multiply these numbers together to get an answer.

An example is 2 x 3 = 2 + 2 + 2 = 6

Each of the monster multiplication clip cards works on multiplication with an equation and then three numbers to pick from for the solution.

• paper clips – super easy to change up clipping the cards

Ways to Use the Monster Multiplication Clip Cards Printable

You are going to see a few ways we use these monster multiplication clip cards plus a few printables you could use with them.

Setting Up Multiplication Clip Cards

One question I get a lot is how do you set up the clip card centers. And well one easy way to do that is like below. You give them the same amount of clothespins to match the clip cards and if they need extra help the multiplication bookmarks.

Why the multiplication bookmarks? Well, they give them an easy way to self-check the cards they clip!

Clipping Multiplication Clip Cards with Clothespins

You see how easy the multiplication clip cards are with the clothespins. You can read the multiplication equation on the card and then say the answer as you clip it. You get a good way to see and hear the equation and answers together.

After they clip the answer to the multiplication on the card you can ask questions like:

• Can you skip count by 6s to the number?
• What number is 6 number before 36?
• What number is 6 numbers after 36?

Clipping Multiplication Clip Cards with Paper Clips

Now if you don’t have clothespins just lying around you might have paper clips. Paper clips are great because you can work on fine motor skills in a different way.

Plus you can see the answer better with paper clips.
