We read Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins and made a Menorah Window! The book goes so great with the menorah craft and kids can have a blast making it.
What you need to make your Menorah Window Craft
- construction paper cut into different parts.
- black paper construction paper
- white paper in 3 shapes
- 3 long brown paper strips – the width of the paper
- 3 short brown paper strips – the height of the paper
- 9 small yellow paper flames cut out
- 8 small blue paper candles
- 1 big blue paper candle
- glue stick
- plastic wrap
- glue
How we made the Menorah Window
You can see the steps below we use to make the window menorahs. It is a great Hanukkah craft to make.
Building the Base of the Menorah
Placed the base of the menorah first in the middle of the paper at the bottom.
Then we played the row where the candles will sit. You can see how well the white paper show sup on the black paper.
Placing the Candles on the Menorah
We placed in the middle the spot for the shamash candle to sit and put the shamash candle on.
Then we placed the 8 candles on the Menorah.
We put the flames on the top of the candles.
Making the Window with Plastic Wrap
The pictures were laid face down on plastic wrap. You want it so that you don’t see the Menorah that you just made.
Glue was placed on the black paper and wrap folded in. You can see how it sticks to the glue on the paper.
What it looks like after covered. You can see it has a window like look to the craft.
Making the Window Frame
We placed the three long brown strips of paper: top, middle, and bottom. You can see how they build the different parts of a window
We placed the three short brown strips of paper: on the right and left sides and middle. This finishes off the window as they make it.

This is a book I’ve never heard of, though it is illustrated by one of my favorite illustrators, Trina Schart Hyman. I love how your windows turned out. Very festive looking.
