Ocean Animals Information Writing with Dolphins at Daybreak
The ocean is always fun to learn about. There are so many great animals to explore there. I love that the next book in the Magic Tree House series is about the ocean!
I love that these chapter books help kids learn about the world around them.
This is a fun book to learn details about the ocean animals and now we have some fun activities to write down details that we find out.
I love that this set is a great addition to the ocean printables on the site!
The book we are in is Dolphins at Daybreak (Magic Tree House, No. 9)
Each of the pages has an ocean animal. We took a few of them that were mentioned in the book plus a few others that are favorites for us. They have four areas to write information about the animal.

How we used these Ocean Animals Information Writing
We used both the books with this activity. You can go back after you have read the book and skim the book looking for information.
We used both books while doing this. I love the fact trackers
We started working on the shark page first. She just loves reading about the hammerhead shark in the book. She looked between the two books and wrote down 4 facts or information about sharks. After she has them we talked about what she wrote.
Another fun activity to go with the books is to use the TOOB animals. We used them as we read the book. Every time we got to a new ocean animal we added it to our growing pile of animals.
One fun part is that they are so lifelike you can use them to match up to the details in the book. We looked over the page that had the shark fins labeled and were about to find them on the figure.
I added several ocean animals in the writing. I wanted there to be more than just one or two. There are 7 ocean animals for writing. You will find a lot of them in the book. But we did add some of our favorite ocean animals as well.
A great follow up you can do with this activity if for kids to do some writing using the inforamtion they found.
