Fun Fall Craft: Model Magic Apple Tree
Fall has so many great themes. We have always loved apples during this time. My girls love doing crafts and I love giving them something fun that might sneak in another skill they are needing.
Today’s model magic apple trees are a great way to work on a fun craft and get some fine motor work in. This is a fun twist of the model magic apples we made last year.
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
This is a great addition to the apple activities on the site.
We always read books with these. Does not matter who old they are they can relearn something from the books. I love the Apples by Gail Gibbons. It is a great book about apples.
We have several other favorite apple books and we love to read them all.
What you need for the Model Magic Apple Tree
How you make the Model Magic Apple Tree
Before we started I took an extra paper roll and made a circle in the foam ball. I pressed and twisted the roll around to make the circle. It gives a place for them to put the know where the paper roll should go. It does make a mess so have something under the ball.
We painted the paper rolls brown. You don’t have to do this if you don’t want. They wanted to paint it so we did. It does have some fun texture to the roll. We put them aside to dry while we did the rest. It might take them a while to dry depending on how much paint they put on it.
We then started putting the green model magic on the foam ball. You do this by pushing small amounts onto the ball and spreading it around with your fingers. This is great fine motor work.
We attacked the paper roll to our foam balls. We did not cover the circle we made on the tree but made sure to fill in some of the edges of the circle.
Once the foam ball and paper roll were attached we started to add our apples. We used our fingers to roll tiny little red balls. This was great fine motor work.
Then put all our red balls on the tree. It was fun to see if they kept the balls circles or pushed them flat. There was no wrong way to put the apples on the tree.
