October 2012 Book Finds

Mousetronaut: Based on a (Partially) True Story is a book that my husband found. The girls just love it. It was a story about a group of mice going on a space shuttle mission. The smallest mouse was chosen and loved space travel. We also learn about the real mouse that is was based after.

Zen Ghosts by Jon J. Muth was a fun Halloween ghost story. A group of friend go trick of treating on Halloween. A friend invites them over to hear a ghost story. It is a story similar some Japaneses ghost stories. I loved the question at the end. We talked about it for some time.

I’m Bored by Michael Ian Black and Debbie Ridpath Ohi is a great book about a girls who says she is bored. She finds a potato and asks what she could do with this. Then the potato talks and says kids are not fun. It was a great way to show all the things kids can do and that there is no reason to be bored.
