Space has always been a favorite theme for us. We love doing activities with it all the time!

I love that space is a theme you can sneak in all year long and kids have fun with it. I have a fun new space skip counting strips for kids to learn with!

This is a great addition to the skip counting printables and space printables on the site.

What is Skip Counting?

Skip counting is working on adding the same number over and over. You have a pattern of adding or counting.

So if you skip counting by 2s, you have a pattern like 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and so forth. These patterns can be repeated for many numbers.

The most often numbers used are 2 through 12. And that is what these printables work on numbers 2 through 12 skip counting.

These space skip counting printables work on skip counting from 1 to 12. Each strip skip counting has forward or backward. This makes counting a lot more fun for the kids.

Space Skip Counting Forward Rockets

You can see examples of the rockets here counting forward. The numbers start at different points. I have laminated our cards so that we can use dry erase markers on them.

Space Skip Counting Backward Planets

The planets count backward. This allows them to change up their counting. You have two starting numbers to help figure out the pattern and three more numbers to fill in.

You can see a few ways we used these space skip counting strips.

Put The Space Skip Counting Strips on Rings

These are simple to use. I like to keep all the numbers together. So I put them on rings so my girls can go through them easier. Plus, they are so much easier to store on the ring. You can then pull out the ring they need to work on.

Point and Skip Counting

You can have them point to each number on the skip counting strip as before they get the writing part. If they need help you can always pull ou the skip counting bookmarks to help.

Write in the Missing Skip Counting Numbers

Then you have them write out the missing numbers. The rockets go forward and the planets go backward. We have had a blast doing these this summer. Plus they are great to use all year long.
