Product Review: Reading the Easy Way! – 12 Week Program
Product: Reading the Easy Way! – 12 Week Program
Price: $10
What is available: 12 week learning program to learn sight words.
When I first saw the product I was very excited about it. It is always great to have good learning programs. I was lucky enough that Beth @ Living Life Intentionally asked me to review it. I have used it with my middle daughter for 3 weeks now. I have found that I really like parts of it.
The Lesson Plans
The weeks are very easily broken down with easy to follow instructions. It only takes 15 minutes a day. All the files are sorts out by what you do each day. You learn 4 sight words a week and have week 6 and 12 are review weeks.
Day One: Educational Cube Word Cards
Amelia really liked the education cube play for sight words. She and Mary passed it back and forth for some time and Amelia learned her words really well.
Day Two: The Writing and Stamping
This was simple we did it two ways. We did the tracing first and then did tiles. After we did tiles we did the stamping part. The stamping was Amelia’s favorite part of the activity. It was easy to do.
Day Three: Coloring
Coloring by sight word is something really easy to do and nice review for everything.
Day Four: Crossword Puzzle
Amelia had a bit of trouble with this but I think as she gets older these will be easier for her.
Day Five: It is either Reading Books or one of the Games
Amelia liked the books and the games. She enjoyed the Fly swatting the best.
My overall thoughts on the program is that it is great for younger children. It is lots of fun learning and engages them in activities they like to do at that age. I found the crossword harder for younger kids but something that may be great for review when they are older. This is a great program to get younger kids started on their sight words with fun and games. Other good news is that part 2 is also coming out soon! So once you finish this program you can start the next one.
Two part I did not care for was going through all the files. I wish that each week was wrapped up together in one file. I also wish there was a reader for each week.
Beth was nice enough to let me away one copy of the Reading the Easy Way! – 12 Week Program!

No worries!
I have some tutoring students who would benefit from this as well as using it for my 2 year old down the line.
I would probably use this with my 4 year old who has already started trying to read, so it would be nice to have something more structured.
