Great Books to Read July 2019 Book Finds
Every month it is fun to look for books. And this month my girls are bringing home some of their favorites from the library for me to read with them. I love summer and getting to read loads of fun picture books.
It is always fun to find a favorite we have always loved or a new book by a new author. Picture books can be used for many different ages.
I still love to read them and encourage my girls even though they are older to still read picture books You never know what you will learn in them.
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
As always there are links to Amazon for the books so you can read more about the books and some have sample pages you can look at.
Music for Mister Moon is a book about a girl named Harriet and she just wants to play her cello in the quiet of her room. She accidently knocks the moon out the the sky when she throws her tea cup. She does not like to play for others. The story goes about her helping the moon and her working on her fear of playing for others to try and play for the moon. I love the pictures and the story.
The Important Thing About Margaret Wise Brown is a fun and interesting way to look at the biography of her life. I love the story and all it tells. I love the fun facts and information you can learn about her.
The Sequoia Lives On is a great book about these big trees. It tells you the size of the tree and compares it to other big animals like the blue whale. It is amazing to see just how big they get. This book also tells you the history about the trees as well. I love the wonderful pictures in the book.
P Is for Pterodactyl: The Worst Alphabet Book Ever is a book we have read several times but we still enjoy it! I love all the way they show you works that don’t start with the letter but sound like they do!
The Street Beneath My Feet is a very fun book to read. It is a book Where the pages expand to show you all the layers. Each page has fun facts about that layer. I loved the book and so did my girls.
Inside Outside is a fun wordless book that shows you the inside of something and then the outside of it. It is fun to see each matching pages. I love wordless books because you can have fun talking so much with them.
The Pigeon HAS to Go to School! is a great addition to Mo Willems books! We love his books and a new Pigeon one we love. This was has a fun school theme to it.
