Every so often, there is a Lunar Eclipse or Solar Eclipse. I love that it happens all over and in different types of eclipses. You can have partial or full eclipses depending on where you live.
Plus, now you can watch them online as well. So even if you are not in the area, you can still see them. I love that these are great science activities that kids can learn about.

What Is a Solar Eclipse?
A solar eclipse happens when, at just the right moment, the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth. There are three types of solar eclipse: total solar eclipse, annular solar eclipse and partial solar eclipse.
What Is a Lunar Eclipse?
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon align so that the Moon passes into Earth’s shadow. There are three types of lunar eclipse: total lunar eclipse, partial lunar eclipse, and penumbral lunar eclipse.

A few years ago I made this for when we were watching the solar eclipse. It was loads of fun. But I realized that it could be used for a lunar as well!
And a full lunar eclipse is happen more often. I wanted to make sure other had the sheet they could use as well.

You can see a lunar eclipse below. And lunar eclipses happen more often than solar eclipses.
If you missed one or can’t see it then you can always look them up online.
Record a Solar Eclipse
You can also just record a solar eclipse with the solar eclipse recording sheet. You can just color the changes in the sun, or you can also add the times.
