Counting books are always loads of fun! And we seem to do lots of counting as the months go on. I love having different themed books kids can use.

Today I have a fun Groundhog themed counting book! I know it is fun to change up how we count. And I know that kids love having their own book.

Groundhogs are fun because it is a great way to work on learning about the start of the seasonal changes.

Easy reader books for counting are always in demand. I know that it is fun to have new books often.

Each of the pages is simple and easy. They have an animal you can count with simple sentences. It has sight words: I, see, and number words 1 to 10.

How we use the Groundhog Counting Easy Reader Book printable

I like to have kids mark words in the books. So we underline the numbers in the sentences as we read. You can see the three groundhogs and the number two underlined.

I love to give them objects to count while they are reading the book. I use unifix cubes for this a lot. It give them a starting point and they can move the cubes from on stack to another as they read. It also gives them a count down for the end of the book.
