Fine Motor Craft: Torn Scrapbook Paper Apple Trees
I’m always looking for new ways to sneak in fine motor. It is one skill we are always working on. And crafts have been an easy way to do that.
Many years ago we did a torn paper apple tree and we loved it. We have been using up scrapbooking paper that I bought years ago and never used.
It is fun to revisit old crafts and do them with something new.
One thing I love about these projects is that I get to spend time talking with my girls while we do them. Plus we are using stuff we already had in the house.
This is a great addition to the other apple crafts we have made over the years.
What you need for this craft:
- 1 inch apple punch
- blue construction paper
- scrap booking paper

- glue stick

How we made our torn paper apple trees.
The first thing we did was draw on our paper how big the tree should be. This is an easy way to give yourself a shape to work with and fill in.
We started working on the trunk of the tree first. This made it easier to see where we wanted to put grass to cover the trunk afterward.
Next, we put grass on the picture. We each had our own idea of how the glass should look. This is one of my favorite things about these craft projects. We all start with one starting point and each makes it unique to us.
Then we put we use a green to put leaves on the tree. I like that each of us did our tree pieces a different size. They tore their pieces then glued and I tore mine up before I started.
Finally, we punched apples to put on our pictures. I love the different craft punches.
