Free Pencil Counting Easy Reader Book with Chart

I know that when my girls were younger we were always looking for new number activities. I could never find enough. So I’m always looking for fun ideas to make counting books.

Today I have a new free pencil counting book with chart! This is perfect for any time of the year but is great for back to school time.

I know that we just love having easy reader books that we can make our own!

Each of the pages is going to give a cup and pencils. You start with zero and work your way to ten.

The pages have very simple sight words: I, see. It allows kids that are just starting out to work on easy words with their number words.

How we uses the book and chart

One fun way we like to read the book is to color the picture and underline the number word you are working on.

You could also use the number chart while reading the book. After you read a number page you cover it on the chart. We use the unifix cubes. This give them a fun interactive counting activity they can do with the book.

Another way to use these is to match the number and use them with a number color and trace page. This allows them to count the two items to see they match. But also to write or trace the number digit and number word. I have a fun pencil number color and trace that just matches perfectly with the book.

But if you want a different activity, you could match it up to a number find. You can read the book page and then do the matching pencil number find. There are so many fun number activities you can do.
