Ladybug Number Counting Book & Chart
Bugs are always a favorite theme for the spring! We always have so much fun with them. I know that people have been loving the counting books and I thought it was time for a bug-themed one!
Today I have a free ladybug counting book with matching chart.
The Ladybug Number Counting Book & Chart is a great addition to the bug and insect printables on the site.
Each of the pages is going to give ladybugs in a jar to count. You start with zero and work your way to ten.
The pages have very simple sight words: I, see. It allows kids that are just starting out to work on easy words with their number words.
One fun way to read the book is to color the ladybugs and underline the number word you are working on.
You could also use the number chart while reading the book. After you read a number page you cover it on the chart. We use the Garden Critter Counters
Another way to use these is to match the number and use them with a number color and trace page. This allows them to count the two items to see they match. But also to write or trace the number digit and number word. There are two new bug themes. A ladybug theme that matches the book or a general bug and insect theme.
But if you want a different activity you could match it up to a number find. You can read the book page and then do the matching number find. We love the cover the number find with the Garden Critter Counters
