Fun To Make Christmas Washi Tape Ornament Wreath
We have had so much fun making wreaths over the last few years. We did a Christmas version with washi tape wreath. And this year we have a fun new twist on it.
It is often fun to take one craft and change it up. My girls came up with different parts of the craft. They all put their own ideas into making this a fun fine motor craft without knowing it.
Christmas crafts are some of our favorite to make. We always do them. I don’t always blog about them but some of my favorites make it to posts.
We are always reading books during Christmas. We have a few favorites and ones of them is The Sweet Smell of Christmas. There are so many things to smell and see duirng this time of year. We talked about the Christmas tree and wreaths. And that is how we decided to make wreaths.
What you need for this Christmas Washi Tape Ornament Wreath Craft:
- Christmas washi tape
- dot marker
- paper plate
- white cardstock
- punches: 1-Inch craft punch
and 1.5 craft punch - scissors
- glue
I drew circles on some of the cardstock and cut out the center of the plates before we started the activity.
At the start, we used a dot maker to paint our paper plate. We did this first so that it would have time to dry while we worked on the ornaments.
Then we started to put our washi tape all over our circles we were cutting out. We did a mix of patterns or no patterns and just had fun. It was a easy way to work on fine motor skills without them knowing.
We cut out the circles that we had covered. If they covered with a tape that would not show threw we drew a circle on the back of the paper to help. We also put tape on cardstock and punched out different sizes of circles.
We checked on an unpainted paper plate to see if we had what we considered enough ornaments to decorate our wreaths. We then glued on the ornaments in however we wanted them placed on the wreath. We had loads of fun placing and gluing them.
