There can be huge struggles to get my youngest to do any type reading. It took a long time to realize that giving her a book in her favorite theme helps. But a transportation easy reader is something she just loves!
We always want kids to read various books to build their learning. I like that easy reader book can be so easy to vary for them. Plus so many kids love cars and trucks. And I do enjoy working on different themed projects throughout the year.

What is an Easy Reader Book?
Easy reader books are made to teach emerging readers independent reading skills. They are also referred to as early readers and beginning readers.
They often have limited vocab to help them focus on certain words.

One of the words we have been focusing on has been like. I wanted her to read and be able to spell it as well. By putting them in a book and they read the word over and over, they become more familiar with it. My youngest has always loved cars and planes. This independent book was a perfect addition for her to read.

I also like that most kids know all the vehicles in the book. It helps them focus on the other sight words in the books. One activity we like to do with the books is circling the word we are working on. Another change might be to circle all the words they know. She read the book several times and each time she circled the work like in different colors.
