July 2012 Book Finds
G is for Gold Medal: An Olympics Alphabet (Sleeping Bear Press Sports & Hobbies) is a fun book that breaks down parts of the Olympics by ABC. Each ABC set has a small poem and then a long paragraph that talks more about it. It is a fun way for kids to learn about the Olympics. Click here to see all the Olympics ideas we have done.
Jack and the Giant Barbecue by Eric A. Kimmel and John Manders. It is about a boy who is going to get his dad’s stolen recipe book back and opens a barbecue shack to do it. What I really like is how this is a twist on Jack and the Beanstalk.
Making the Moose Out of Life by Nicholas Oldland is a story about a moose who is thinks he is missing out, but is not sure. He is not a normal moose at all. Then he is hit on the head and does make the most of what happens to him.
