I love that this is an activity that kids can be creative as they want while making these puzzles. Each puzzle is unique to them. This is great for some fine motor and working on their sight words.

I have a lot of fun watching them make these puzzles. It is simple and easy to make.

What you need for this activity: scissors, 2 copies sight word cards, and crayons.

I print off two copies of the sight word cards and cut them out ahead of time. I have cut out the cards so that they don’t have to do all the cutting. I always pick the words they might need to work on. I do a sight word evaluation and pick some words she knows well and some she does not know as well.

I gave her one copy of the sight word cards. She then picked out the colors she wanted to use. I love giving her all the crayons colors we have so that she can use many different shades and colors. For every letter on the flashcard, she colors them a different color.

After you have the cards all colored, she cut them between each letter. This was tons of fun and kids love to do cutting with scissors. We put the finished puzzles on top of the second flash card.

After we are done we are done with the puzzles I put them in a plastic bag that I have punched holes on. They I put them in a 3 ring binder for storage while we are working on those words.
