Hands on Number Bond Mats: Addition & Subtraction
We have been doing a lot of hands-on math activities lately. We love all the math addition pages in the themed packs. I wanted to have something we could pull out and use at any time.
We have been exploring the starting of math for my kindergartener. She loves doing math when her sisters are doing homework. I made this simple mat so she could do some math on her own.
These are simple mats for math. There is an option for addition and subtraction. These are a simple way to for kids to learn math. I also like that they make it a hands-on activity instead of just flashcards for learning math.
Each of the maths has a number bond on them for addition or subtraction. There are two sets of numbers 0 to 20. This allows for various types of math options.
I love using the seasonal erasers on these mats. They work perfectly for getting some fine motor while working on math.
I set up the mats with erasers, flash cards, and the numbers. I try and make sure that I have enough erasers and the numbers to match up with the flash cards.
You could also use these other options for counters:
- clear counters
- unifix cubes
- bear counters
- glass gems
- Cheerios
- Goldfish
- marbles
- beans
I wanted something simple and easy to use. One fun thing about these mats is that you can print them on any color cardstock that you want to use. It makes it easy to use all year around without any changes for the seasons.
What you will find in these printables:
- Two mat options: addition or subtraction
- Two sets of numbers 0 to 20
- 3 pages of printables
