Model Magic Snowmen
Model magic is one of our favorite craft to do. We do something in it at least once a week. I love that it is such an easy thing to work with. We are on a snow and winter theme at our house. We have been reading a lot of snowmen books and doing some activities with them.
We made these model magic snowmen to go with the book There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow!. This is also the book that I used with the Winter Pack.
What you need for this activity: model magic colors: white, yellow, black, orange and red.
I gave each of the girls some white model magic and they had to decide how to divide up it up for their snowmen. We talked about how many circles they would need for their snowman. They made balls out of the model magic. We talked about the sizes of the balls and how to make small medium and large or whatever size they wanted them to be.
After we had the different sizes they squished the balls flat to make circles for the snowmen. Each of my girls had their own idea of size for the snowman and how it should look.
They each had their own ideas of what they were going to decorate their snowmen like. I love how crafts like this allow them to be as creative at they want. How do the eyes look? Will it have a hat? What else would you put on a snowman? Are some of the questions that I would ask them.
Here is a look at our snowmen:

I love 3D “drawing” it just adds so much to learning and fun!!
Cute! We’ve never tried model magic. I’ll have to check it out. I remember enjoying modeling clay as a child.
Possibly a stupid question, but is Model Magic the same as clay? These look like fun to make! #ThoughtfulSpot
It is similar but easier to use with little fingers.
