Meet Our Flag, Old Glory – Yarn American Flag
We got Meet Our Flag, Old Glory by April Jones Prince and Joan Paley from the library. It was a nice book about the American Flag which I guess is out of print now. You can get it from your library.
We talked about the main features of our flag and about some of the original flags that were shown in the book. We also talked about the flag we saw hanging at the Old North Church.
What you need: Red and White yarn cut in two lengths for the stripes, Blue yarn cut in one length, more White yarn cut for the stars, Dot Art Flag from I Can Teach My Child printed on card stock and glue.
The girls put glue on the red dots and then put the red yarn on.
Then the girls followed by putting on the white yarn. The girls did the color from the bottom up.
They put on the blue yarn.
They put glue on the blue yarn and sprinkled the small white yarn over the area.
The finished Product.
