Beach Sensory Bin with Kinetic Sand
It is full-on summer here and we are really enjoying it. We love to go to the beach but can’t always happen. Today we are bringing the beach to us! Check out our fun Beach Sensory Bin! This goes great with the Free Beach Pack.
With all our sensory bins or activities I really do try and team them up with a book. We read the book: Seashells by the Seashore. I love the idea of looking for shells. This books also has information about different types of shells in the back of the book.
What you need for this sensory bin activity:
- kinetic sand
- mix of shells
- small cups
- hermit crab
- crab
Ways we used this sensory bin
The first thing they did was explore what was in the bit. They took out the crabs and went search for all the shells in the bin. They loved the feel of the sand.
After they got everything out they just wanted to play with the kinetic sand. This is not just sand it is the kentic sand that is easy to mold and hold its shape and sticks to itself really easy.
They made some fun shell imprints into the sand and see how different each of the shells were.
They then just had fun with everything. They buried crabs and shells in the sand to find. They made a little while with the cups of the sad and just had fun seeing what they could create and do. They really enjoyed just exploring all parts of the bin that they could do.
