Valentines Heart Sensory Bin
Last year we had tons of fun with a Valentines Sensory Bin. It was loads of fun and I went to put the same bin together but remembered some fun heart things I found at the craft store. So they got put into it. The book we read with it this activity was a The Shape of My Heart. I love this book because it talks about the shape and color of lots of things and hearts everywhere. So this years Valentines Sensory Bin is full of heart of different types.
What you need for this sensory bin:
- heart buttons
- rice
- scoop
- heart shaped fabric hearts
- Dot the H & Heart
- small table topper glitter hearts
The first thing she did was run her hands through it for a bit. It had a different texted than just buttons and rice. She liked the differences in the soft and hard hearts.
My youngest sorted out a few of the different hearts in the bin. She really liked the gold hearts that she found in the bin. She counted them several times. She liked that there was different sizes of them.
One new thing for this sensory bin was the scoop. She just loves the cups and this time I thought I would change it up on her. She did ask for the cups at one time during her play time. She did end up loving the scoop.
One last thing we did with the sensory bin was finish up some of our letter H learning. We used the dot the H & Heart from the Romping & Roaring H Pack. She placed hearts on the dots on the paper.
All the girls have loved to play with this sensory bin! It is easy to change this up for older kids buy putting sight word cards in it or any other vocab card you want to work on.
