Math Art: Shape Coloring Symmetry Art
I love doing different projects with my girls. And we always enjoy the different challenges.
And we love the idea of exploring different concepts while we do an activity.
Today we are exploring shape symmetry with a little coloring and I have some free Shape Coloring Symmetry Art printables.
Symmetry is fun because you can have fun working fine motor skills while coloring and learning about math.
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
I’m so happy to share with you our math art project that is apart of the Math Art Projects for Kids.
It is always neat to try something new or different when we are challenged to do it. We are going to explore symmetry with shapes in a fun coloring page. These are a great way to work on seeing how things can be the same as your color.
Each of the pages focuses on one shape in a mix of patterns. You have circles, squares, triangles, ovals, rectangles, and rhombus.

Ways to use the Shape Coloring Symmetry Art
You can use these with just about any art medium that you want to use. They are flexible. I’m going to show you three ways we used them.
You can color them with crayons. You can do loads of colors or just pick a few. We used three colors and had a blast mixing up the coloring.
We have a blast with the watercolors! This is a really fun way to do these for kids that might not like to use crayons or markers. We have a big watercolor set and we love to use it. This is great for fine motor work.
Another way to do these is with oil pastels! You can blend colors and mix things up and have a blast doing it. I love that you can be flexible in how you use them.
Plus with there are 6 pages to try out and always fun to color when you want!
