What is addition?
Addition is the adding of two or more numbers together. So by adding 2 + 1 we get 3. The number 3 is the sum of the two numbers.
These cards work on having two addition math problems with kids matching the cards that add up the same number.
Each puzzle piece has an addition problem on the cloud. You can see two puzzle pieces below.
The set also has a mat to use with the puzzle pieces.

Ways to Use the Rainbow Addition Matching Printable
There are several ways to use the puzzles and I want to show you a few of them.
You can just match the puzzles. You can line them up on two sides and just match the puzzles. A simple and easy activity to do.
You can use unifix cubes to help with the math of the puzzles. You can see how the two equations match up with the cubes. this is a great hands-on way to check if they are the same for beginners.
You can also take the unifix cubes to the number bond mat. It is another way to show you how the equations are the same. You can do the two parts and then put them in the center.
You can also use mini erases for this. We have several sets of mini erasers and love to use them for math.
You can also make this a number writing activity. You can have them write the numbers in the bond and then show the answer to see if they are the same.
Another fun way to use these puzzles is on rings! They can flip through the puzzles and match the right ones.
