Fun Pirate Themed Place Value Task Cards
I’m always making fun math centers with printables that I’ve made. But I’m never just made math centers. I’m always pulling things together for it and letting my girls have fun with it.
Today I have just that an easy to use math center with task cards for place value in a fun pirate theme!
The Pirate Themed Place Value Task Cards is a part of the 5 Days of Pirate Printables.
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
You might be asking why task cards. The simple reason is that this is easy to set up and use math center. I find that having something all set up that my girls just have to sit down at is nice. Plus it is great for teachers to have something simple and easy to use.
There are 12 cards each with a pirate and how many coins they have. Each card has a different number of coins that a pirate has. The numbers on the cards vary from card to card. You have some that go up into the millions. I recommend laminating the cards to make them last longer. You could also put the cards on a ring to help keep them together.
The cards then match up to a single page with questions about the coins. I love having this set for working on place value. The page is will ask what place value a number is. They write the answer on the page.
If a child is having problems figuring out what the place value of the number is I recommend using the place value bookmarks. They can look at the numbers on the bookmarks and match them to the numbers on the cards.
