You can have kids do a little math with the sensory bin. There are 10 penguins so it works great to work on ways to add up to 10.

You can have them sort equal numbers of penguins on land and in the ocean.

You can tell them to put three one land and the rest in the ocean. Then they have tell you have many are in the ocean and how many on lands. You can point out that 3 plus 7 equations ten. A little bit of fun math.
