How we made the Paper Roll Painted Moon
You will see all the steps below we use to make the paper roll painted moon.
Preparing the Full Moon Cut out
You print of the full moon from the phases of the moon fine motor mats.
You want to cut out the moon on the page. You can see how it looks below.
Then you use masking tape and tape the full moon mat onto the black construction paper. You want to do this so that it does not move while you are painting.
Put Black And White Paint on a Paper Plate
You put the black and white paint on a paper plate. You might want to have more white than black paint.
You can use the paper roll to mix the paint together.
It is okay if the paint is not totally mixed to make grey. The moon has different variations of the colors.
Painting the Moon
Now that you have the paper all set up and the paint ready, we paint the moon.
You put the paper roll in the paint and stamp it on the paper.
You can see the mixed paint shows up on the black paper. And yes you might see a few bubbles like this while painting.
You have kids have loads of fun just painting the area with the paper roll. they can do a lot of stamping or a little bit of stamping.
Let them decide when they are done.
Looking at the Moon after Painting
After they finish painting the moon. You remove the paper template from the black paper.
Be cause if you use construction paper because it might tear a little bit.
You can see how the moon looks below.
Painting Stars Around the Moon
The final step is painting the stars around the moon. You can do a few stars or a lot.
You dip the q-tip in paint and put dots around the moon you have painted.
It is fun because no one will have the same start pattern.
