No-Prep Sight Word Maze & Tracing

I have always loved the word mazes. They are great fun and a nice way to work on reading different words. Today I have some new sight words mazes.

They are fun no-prep sight word printable that will let kids work on their sight words in a fun way. They work on tracing sight words and following the sight word through the word maze.

A simple just print and use sight word printable.

What is a Sight Word?

Sight words are words that we teach beginner readers to know by heart. This is so that when they see it they know it. It can help speed reading along.

Simply put these are words that are found common in reading. Some examples are: like, and, can, go here, and come. They might not be easy to decode or don’t follow patterns simple sounding out patterns.

There are many different lists that you can get for sight words. Some of these sight word lists are Dolch Sight Word lists and Fry Sight Word Lists.

Each of these sight word mazes has a focus of one sight word per page and are from the Dolch Sight Word Lists. You have an area to trace the sight word and then follow the words through the maze. I also like that this is a no-prep sight word activity. So you can just print and use the pages as they are.

You have these simple and easy to use sight word mazes. You can use markers and dot marker with them. You trace the words with markers and dot the word in the maze.

And easy way to see the sight word when you trace it and find it mixed in with other words.

Trace the Sight Word & Color the Maze

You can also color the sight word maze part with crayons. It is simple and easy to do. Plus works great on coloring in the squares.

Reuse the Sight Word Maze Printable

If you want to reuse the pages. You can laminating them or printing or cardstock and putting in a sheet protectors. Then kids can trace the words with dry erase markers and color the words in the maze with hands-on objects.

We use clear glass gems a lot because you can see through them. We have also used clear counters.

Trace the Sight Word and Read the Sight Words

You can also use the sheet as reading practice. You can read through the words on each line. This gives you good practice reading loads of different words at the same time as your focus word. I put our pages in sheet protectors and then pull out the word we are working on. They trace the word and then read each line of sight words.
