May 2012 Book Finds
The book finds this month all came from the library. I always try and look and ask them about new books when they come in. This month we have dinosaurs, seasonal books and a few others that were fun.
Dinosaur Pet by Neil Sedaka and Marc Sedaka is a great story about a boy and his dinosaur pet. This book features the months of the year. Each month the dinosaur does something different. It comes with a CD that has 3 songs on it. My girls love the book and so do I. Check out our activity we did for this book.
Dancing Feet! by Lindsey Craig and Marc Brown is a fun look at different kinds of feet and the tracks they make. You follow the footprints until you find who made the print.
The OK Book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld was a great book about being okay at things. You followed OK through the book to see what OK was okay at. It was fun to learn that you can be okay at something before you become great at something. We talked about the activities the girls were “OK” with.
Outside Your Window: A First Book of Nature by Nicola Davies and Mark Hearld was a book I found at the library and will become an addition to our home. This book is divided up into the 4 seasons. Each season has poems that go with explaining something about that season. We read a few and loved it! I can see this being a book that we use all year around. Just goes to show you never know what you will find when looking at the library.

We love Dinosaur Pet in our home! Can’t wait to try the others!
The girls loved it and loved the other day making their own dinosaur pet. It is always fun to find good books.
