We use sensory bins for a calm down for post school and have used them from preschool up to other grades.

A fun activity would be to sort out all the good luck coins from the sensory bin. They will have to dig around to find all the coins.
If you do this a few times you could tell them how many coins are in the bin and have them search for them all. One time you put ten another time you put in five. It is just a fun way to explore through the rice in the bin.
Sort out the Red Rocks in the Lunar New Year Sensory Bin
You can also have them sort out the red acrylic rocks in the bin. A super fun way to explore in the sand to find them.
