Hands-On Math With the Free Fireworks Telling Time Puzzle For Kids
Puzzles are one of my favorite ways to learn. I know that I get asked a lot for more telling time printables, so now we have a telling time puzzle with a firework theme.
The telling time puzzle works on matching hourly times. It is a great way to review matching the telling time words and the analog clock.
It is a free puzzle you can grab and use in telling time learning centers.

What is Telling Time?
It is the ability to look at a clock and tell time. There are many different types of clocks. You can tell time by an analog clock and a digital clock.
You start by learning the hours on the clock and then work up to an hour and a half hour. Then you learn to tell the time with all the minutes on the clock.

The telling time firework puzzle works on telling time hourly words and analog clocks. The telling time puzzle is a great time matching activity in the form of a puzzle that kids can make.

You have a mat with analog clocks on it. Each of the clocks matches the time on the firework puzzle. You have houlry time from 1 to 12.

You have two telling time puzzles. Each puzzle can be used with the telling time mat. You have a black background for the puzzle ena d while background for the puzzle. NOt everyone likes printing black so I wanted an option of a different background.

Ways to Use the Fireworks Telling Time Puzzle Printable
You can see some suggestions on how to use the puzzle and ways to prepare the telling time puzzle.
Prepare the Telling Time Mat
You want to print on cardsctok and laminate the telling time mat. You could use a colored cardsctock for the mat is you wanted. After we laminated the mat we used putty on each of the corners. This is to help the puzzle pieces stick to the mat.
Prepapring the Telling Time Puzzles
You want to laminate the puzzle that you are going to use. You can laminate before cutting out or cut out and laminate. It depends on what works best for you.

You want to cut the puzzle up, and you can see the black puzzle pieces below.
You can see how the white puzzle looks below cut up. You can use the puzzle that works best for you.
Setting the Telling Time Center
You want to have the telling time puzzle mat and then telling time puzzle pieces that you will use. You have the puzzle in a stack for them to match.
If they need help with telling time you can use the telling time bookmarks for the telling time words and the clocks.
Matching the Puzzle Pieces
You want to work on matching the telling time words to the analog clock on the puzzle. You can see how we have the 9 o’clock and the same time on the clock. You match those pieces on the mat to build the fireworks.
Why use the Putty on the Telling Time Mat
If you are using the wall putty on the telling time mat this is a great so that the puzzle won’t fall off the mat as you make the puzzle. You can see below how it stays on where you place it.
