I love counting books. They are always fun to have. Plus I know that everyone works on counting throughout the year.

I wanted to add a fun twist to this fun fireworks counting book. I added color words for the fireworks. These are a simple way to work on number and colors at the same time.

This is a great book for around the 4th of July or any time there are fireworks to see.

What is an easy reader book?

Easy reader books are an easy way to great way to get learning tools into small hands. They can re-read them and call the book their own.

the Fireworks easy reader books are great for kids just starting out working on color and number words.

Each page of the firework easy reader book has a number word and color word they are working on. The only expectation is the zero page. Since there are no fireworks to see.

Number Words in the Fireworks Easy Reader Book Printable

You are going to have the following number words written out: zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten.

Color Words in the Fireworks Easy Reader Book Printable

You will find the following color words in the book: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, gray, brown, and white.

If kids don’t know their color words you might want to color the fireworks in advance so they have a better chance of reading the color word.

You can also use the kindergarten desk help printable with the color words.

How to Make the Firework Number & Color Easy Reader Book Printable

I always get asked how I make the easy reader books. Here are the simple steps that I use to make the books. I use scissors and a stapler.

Cut Down the Center of the Firework Number & Color Easy Reader Book

You start by lining up the pages and cut down the middle of the book. You want to make sure you hold the pages steady while you cut.

Alternate the Pages of the Firework Number & Color Easy Reader Book

You alternate the pages of the book. The odd pages are on the top and the even pages on the bottom. You have even and then odd until all the pages are sorted.

Staple the Left side of the Firework Number & Color Easy Reader Book

After you make sure all the pages of the book are lined up you staple the book on the left side. Then your easy reader book is ready to be used.

How we used the Fireworks Themed Counting & Color Word Book

Underline the Number Word and Color Word in the Easy Reader Book

The first time through the firework counting and color word book, we underlines the color and the number we were working on. Then we colored the fireworks to match the sentences.

I keep a copy of colored pencils by the book. The pencils have the color word on them to help kids match the correct color to the word.

Hands-on Counting with the Fireowrks Easy Reader Book

After the book is all filled out we take time to go back and read it again. The second time I love making it hands-on. I give them 10 clear glass gems.

As they read the book they cover the fireworks with the glass gems. It helps them work on fine motor and counting at the same time.
