I have always love wall cards. Does not matter if they are on a wall or on a ring. They a such a great tool to learn with. I know that my girls have always love wall cards.

I have a new set of wall cards for the Dolch sight words for the third grade words list. These are simple and easy cards for kids to see their sight words.

These make reviewing and learning sight words fun. Plus these will go great with the third grade sight word packs come out in a few months. These are great to use with that. Plus they are great with systems that learn by letter.

What is a Sight Word?

Sight words are words that we teach beginner readers to know by heart. This is so that when they see it they know it. It can help speed reading along.

Simply put these are words that are found common in reading. Some examples are: like, and, can, go here, and come. They might not be easy to decode or don’t follow pattern simple sounding out patterns.

There are many different lists that you can get for sight words. Some of these sight word lists are Dolch Sight Word lists and Fry Sight Word Lists.

All of the words are sorting by beginning letter. This means that all the “a” words are on the same card. Plus they are big and makes them easy to read.

Each of the cards has from 1 to 6 words on each sight word wall card by letter.

Use them for Spelling the Third Grade Sight Word

I love using these cards for spelling and writing. I often pull out all the lacing letters that we need to make the words based on the beginning letter. Then I have them spell out each of the words with the lacing letters. A simple and easy sight word spelling activity.

Use them for Writing the Third Grade Sight Word

We do a lot of writing activities. I pull out the blank writing pages and have them write out all the words on the list. You can have older kids write sentences for each of the words. I like to have them write the words and then do the sentences.

Printing the Third Grade Sight Word Wall Cards Smaller

I printed our third grade sight word wall cards two per page on yellow cardstock and laminated them. I then put them on a ring.

This allows us to take the cards on the go or easy storage when you don’t have tons of space. You can use cards like these and the sight words lists to do an Easy Sight Word Evaluation.

I love the small fit for smaller hands. We use these a lot for review of words.
