Color Sorting & Patterns with Links

Fine motor and color learning all at the same time! Check out this hands on activities.

We are starting back into full schooling at a small break because of the girls being sick. Here is one of the first activities we did. This is a color sorting and pattern making activity. It was simple and easy and loads of fun.

What you need: links, small basket, and 4 part sorting tray.

First had her pick which colors went it what spot.

I had her sort the colors each in the different bins.

After she sorted the colors, I gave her two links together and asked what came next in the pattern. We had two different patterns: red & blue and green & yellow.

This activity could be doing with many of the different colors of links. The patterns can be made as easy or hard as you want them to be.
