Apple Themed Double Digit Addition Puzzles
I know that even my older girls love to change things up and have some type of hands on activity that they can do. Math is always changing as you get older. You go from 1 digit addition to two and on!
Today I have two fun two digit addition math puzzles. They are a great way to review math and have a hands-on activity.
This printable is a part of the 5 Days of Apple Printables.
Puzzles have always been something we have loved at our house. We use them all the time. I find they are a great way to work on different skills. We have done some skip counting puzzles and loads of learning to read puzzles.
These puzzles are great for kids in second grade or older who need some review in double digit math.
There are two puzzles one puzzle has carrying numbers and the second does not.
How We Prepare the Apple Double Digit Puzzles
The first thing I did with the puzzle piece is printed them on cardstock and laminated them. This allows them to last longer. I cut out the puzzles pieces and sorting them by puzzle 1 and puzzle 2.
On the puzzle mat, I put some putty on it. This helps the puzzle pieces stick as you do the puzzle. It put on the mat and not the puzzles because this allows me to use it for different puzzles.
How We Used the Apple Double Digit Addition Puzzles
After the puzzles are all set up I give them the puzzle addition worksheet, the puzzle pieces, and the building mat.
First, she solved the addition worksheet. My middle loves to finish the worksheet first.
Second, she sorted through the puzzle pieces and put them where the matched the addition worksheet.

These are super clever. Kids completing a puzzle correctly if they have the answers right is a genius idea!
Thanks, I can’t take all the credit. Royal Baloo has done a few of them. My girls just wanted more of them. 🙂
